Boardmasters Festival returns to Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach from Wednesday 8th August to Sunday 12th August 2018. As always all music and camping activities will be held at the Watergate Bay site, and all surfing, skate, BMX, shopping and beach activites will be held at our Fistral Beach site, near the town centre.

Age Restrictions: Persons aged 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian of 18 years or over. More info here. Accepted forms of ID are passport, drivers license or anything with a PASS logo.
Noise & Volume: Prolonged exposure to loud music may affect your hearing. For advice on how to protect your hearing visit the Action on Hearing Loss website. Large sound sytems are not allowed in the campsite and personal speakers must be no more than 30x10x8cm.
Smoking Policy: No smoking is permitted in any of the indoor areas. Smoking in any indoor area is illegal and could result in you being fined.

Food & Catering: Catering units are present all over the arena. You will also find breakfast and snack bars within the campsites operating a service into the small hours, as well as a general store selling foods, sanitary products and camping equipment... all the essentials!
Mobile Phones: Mobile phone charging stations are available in the arena and campsite, provided by third-party companies. Note: reception and charging availability not guaranteed.

ALCOHOL POLICY AT WATERGATE BAY
• No glass allowed
• Alcohol brought to the festival must comply with the event regulations which are: Weekend campers aged 18 and over can bring in limited amounts and types of alcohol. You may be asked for proof of age.
• Quantity per person: 24 cans beer/lager/cider/pre-mixed-spirit-cans OR 3 litres of wine
• No straight spirits allowed
• All drinks must be unopened and NO GLASS
• Alcohol is on sale at the event but you must be 18 or over to purchase. Bring ID, you will be asked each time you buy a drink. It is illegal to buy alcohol for another person who is under 18. Challenge 25 is in place at all bars. Accepted forms of ID are passport, driver’s license or anything with a PASS logo.
• Alcohol will only be permitted on first entry to the festival campsite. You will not be able to exit & re-enter with more alcohol.
• Alcohol cannot be brought into the festival arena. It will however be on sale inside the arena.
• Day ticket holders are not allowed to bring in any alcoholic drinks.

✗ glass including all bottles, makeup, perfume (small compact mirrors are allowed, max size 10x10cm)
✗ no food can be brought into the main music arena
✗ illegal substances, psychoactive substances, nitros oxide and legal highs

✗ anything that could be reasonably considered for use as a weapon
✗ candles, sky lanterns
✗ portable or disposable barbeques/gas/paraffin lamps or any fire/gas related cooking equipment
✗ portable laser equipment and pointer-pens
✗ drones, quadcopters, remote controlled flying devices
✗ megaphones, air horns, compressed air
✗ fireworks, flares, smoke bombs, smoke machines
✗ large sound systems (personal speakers must be no more than 30x10x10cm)
✗ animals with the exception of guide dogs
✗ generators, apart from those permanently built into campervans
✗ gas canisters or cylinders apart from those fitted in campervans
✗ unofficial tabards or hi-vis jackets
✗ professional camera or video recording equipment (including SLRs and anything with a detachable lens)

Like all major events and festivals, we are aware of a raised level of threat across the country, though we do not currently have any specific threat related to the festival or surrounding area. We continue to plan the event closely with the police and security services and the police will have a presence on site throughout the festival to support our dedicated security provider. We have increased security measures in place for 2017 and continue to work vigilantly with all our partners to deliver a safe and enjoyable event for all attending.
Due to extra security measures, entrance into the festival may be slightly slower. To ensure we get you in as quickly and safely as possible please pack light, arrive early, be patient and co-operate with instructions from our security team.
FISTRAL BEACH (SURF/SKATE/BMX)

Tickets: Not required for surfing, skate and BMX events, retail village and beachside areas at Fistral Beach, all free of charge.
Beach Session Tickets: Tickets are required for The Beach Sessions gigs on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Tickets are not yet on sale for these events.
Travel: Fistral Beach is a separate location to Watergate Bay, please plan ahead if travelling between sites. A shuttle bus service runs between the two sites, more info below. Also see location and directions.
Age Restrictions: Fistral Beach is free access for all ages, however you must be 18 or over to attend The Beach Sessions.
Wristbands: The Beach Sessions are the only ticketed events at Fistral Beach. Please note: Beach Session ticket holders cannot exit and re-enter the venue.
Alcohol at Fistral Beach: Alcohol will be sold at The Beach Bar - please ensure you bring photographic ID and be aware that we operate a Challenge 25 policy.
Cash Machines at Fistral Beach: Cash dispensers are available, but they charge a small fee.
Smoking at Fistral Beach: No smoking is permitted in any of the indoor areas. Smoking in any indoor area is illegal and could result in you being fined.
Camping: There is no option to camp at Fistral Beach. All Boardmasters camping is located alongside the Main Arena at Watergate Bay. Please head to the Campsites Information page for more info on camping at Boardmasters.
Car Parking: There is no customer parking at Fistral Beach. Please endeavour to park away from the event site and walk down as the festivities encompass the entire Fistral Beach area. Headland Road Closure: The road leading down to the beach is closed during the event, this is due to traffic congestion in the past. Avoid trying to access this road.

SHUTTLE BUS (WATERGATE BAY & FISTRAL BEACH)
Where possible, we encourage customers to use the shuttle bus that is provided between the Festival site at Watergate Bay and Newquay, and to not drive. The shuttle bus is the quickest way to reach Fistral Beach. It uses closed roads, meaning it's considerably quicker than private car. Also note, parking in Newquay is very limited.
The shuttle bus will run between the Watergate Bay Festival Site and Newquay Town Centre (for Fistral Beach) between 07:00 and 04.30 each day. Single ticket: £TBC Return ticket: £TBC. A reduced service will run on Monday morning.
